Nice textures on the buildings, looks very realistic
Only thing thats abit weird is the actual player and the tree leaves that look abit weird

Hehe thanks, we used camera mapping for the textures so it's as real as it gets :)

Oh yes, rendering PaintFX with Maya Software is very difficult. Some heavy crunch time at the end of the project.

Vi kameramappade alla scener, utom uppenbarligen den absolut sista då den landar i gräset. Där är allt CG ;)

Tack så mycket :D

wow this is amazing so pro, what render engine did you use for this?

:iconjanzak:
janzak Featured By Owner May 18, 2007
We actually used the standard software render engine in Maya - each frame took ony between 10 and 40 seconds to render!

Very nice, i was thing about making some thing, similar to that and was wondering what program or programs you used to make this??
I'm kinda a new-be in this 3D animation stuff and i cam trying to find out what program i would work best.

Thanks Adriel

Honestly, it doesn't really matter what program you choose. I used to go for 3Dmax but my school uses Maya so that's what I use now.

If you want to make plants and grass like these and animate them, Maya has something called PaintFX and that's what we used here.

3Dmax is good for exact measurments, full control, architecture, game graphics, logic - Maya is more "creatively free"; it's not as exact as 3Dmax but it goes fast and is very intuitive when you get going.

Oh and if you're curious on the technique used here, look up "Camera Mapping"!

Thanks janzak, for all that information there and I will try both of them... (Maya+PaintFX and 3Dmax)
